This information was obtained from an article on the Clemson University web site; The Department of Defense has awarded $1.6 million to the Center for Bioelectronics, Biosensors and Biochips (C3B) at Clemson University for the development of an implantable biochip that could relay vital health information if a soldier is wounded in battle or a civilian is hurt in an accident. “We now lose a large percentage of patients to bleeding, and getting vital information such as how much oxygen is in the tissue back to ER physicians and medical personnel can often mean the difference between life and death,” said Guiseppi-Elie. “Our goal is to improve the quality and expediency of care for fallen soldiers and civilian trauma victims.” Clemson scientists have formulated a gel that mimics human tissue and reduces the chances of the body rejecting the biochip, which has been a problem in the past. The researcher predicts the biochip is five years away from human trials.

My gripe is the biochip broadcasts information on the soldier’s vital signs 24/7. A soldier cannot escape the watchful eye of Uncle Sam even when they are off duty. What about the soldier’s privacy? Are civilians next? Do you see the possible harmful ramifications of this technology?

On Thursday July 12th, Rajan Zed, a Hindu chaplain from Reno, Nevada delivered the opening prayer in the US Senate. As I understand Hinduism, they worship not one God but many gods. “One Nation Under God” is our motto, not one nation under multiple gods. It is time to quit caving in to all the minority voices that seek to destroy mainstream America. A Hindu can led the opening prayer in the US Senate, but our local high school cannot start a football game with a prayer to the one God that our forefathers and mainstream Americans worship.

My gripe with ‘No Child Left Behind’ is the foolish notion that all children can be grade level proficient. Not all children are born with the same abilities. This is fact! Does all college football players make the pros? No, not all athletes are pro material. Not all high school graduates can meet the admission requirements to MIT. Does this fact ‘leave behind’ some prospective MIT students? No! Maybe there talent was not 1300 on the SAT but talent in music. They would have preferred a great music college like Berklee College of Music. Being less ‘academic’ does not make one less of a person! It is time to scrap the silly notions of NCLB.

Popular opinion is that women are most beautiful when they are pregnant. It’s only fair, right? Women are sacrificing so that a sweet baby can make its entrance into the world. So treat them with respect. DO comment on a women’s beauty when she is pregnant and how you are anticipating the birth. DON’T comment on how huge she is as you are feeling her belly. “Are you having twins?” is not a good thing to say! Remember that women are most vulnerable at this time and simply thinking before you say something is always the best option.

The custom at most High School games, is to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country.”

My gripe is the Supreme Court says a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. However, we can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it “an alternate lifestyle,” and if someone is offended, that’s OK.

We can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, “safe sex” If someone is offended, that’s OK.

We can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a “viable means of birth control.” If someone is offended, no problem.

We can designate a school day as “Earth Day” and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess “Mother Earth” and call it “ecology.”

We can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as “simple minded” and “ignorant” and call it “enlightenment.”

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical. Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Most people have a job. They work and get paid. We pay our taxes and the government distributes our taxes as they see fit. In order to get that paycheck, a lot of us are required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of our taxes to people who don’t have to pass a urine test. Shouldn’t one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because the benefit is coming from people who have to pass one to earn it for them? I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. My gripe is with helping someone to sit on their butt. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? What do you think?
